The HCU wordmark contains a nod to the school`s Ten Pillars, with the serifs closely resembling the school`s iconic landmarks. In September 2022, Houston Baptist University (HBU) changed its name to Houston Christian University (HCU) and then in January 2023, the athletics department unveiled its updated identity.
