Washington Huskies’ new “Husky Royalty” alternate uniforms unveiled
The Washington football program recently unveiled its new “Husky Royalty” alternate uniform, which will be worn during a to-be-determined road game this fall.
Paired with a chrome gold helmet, the all-white uniform features textured metallic gold numbers outlined in purple. It marks the first time the Huskies have ever worn gold numbers on a white uniform, though their home purple jersey had solid gold numerals until the early 1970s.

The sleeves and sides of the pants have a metallic gold-purple-metallic gold striping pattern, a design that made its debut when Washington released its current uniform set ahead of the 2019 season. Those uniforms feature two shades of purple in the stripes and solid colored pants, though.
The Huskies have worn white pants on numerous occasions since they first made an appearance in 2009, including last season’s 21-16 win at Arizona, but never with this striping pattern. Previous iterations featured purple-gold-purple stripes, a solid purple block or were blank, aside from a Block “W” and Adidas logo on the hips.
This look, which is complete with a Block “W” at the base of the collar, is effectively a gold-heavy version of Washington’s standard road jersey, which pays homage to the Huskies’ undefeated 1991 Rose Bowl season. There’s a minimal amount of gold on that set, as the numbers are notably outlined in white.
Washington will play five road games this fall, including trips to UCLA on Sept. 30, Arizona State on Oct. 8, California on Oct. 22, Oregon on Nov. 12 and Washington State on Nov. 26. Stay tuned to see when the “Husky Royalty” uniforms will see the field.
